II
Q. is this your first website?
A. No. i have maintained various geocities websites, including a commercial domain site for a few months.
Q. why there is no professional layout?
A. I am not a web designer, even if it is possible for me to use CSS or PHP, i prefer not to put too much effort into it.
i think the site is functional and easy to use, like it is.
Q. will there be downloadable content?
A. Yes- i plan to add some of my PIC projects, not all of them, but a few of the sources to download for everyone.
also there will be some 68K related documents, and tools.
Q. why the name MTFUJITOWN.INFO- there is no such town for real?
A. Yes Mt Fuji is not populated- however, i want to express my status- Mt Fuji is a place beloved by most japanese people,
though everyone can visit it, there are no restrictions, most people do not visit more than once a year, or even only a few times in the life.
this would also not be possible, as the visitor capacity is limited.
last not least, Mt Fuji is feared to erupt again at a unknown point it the future- it did the last time in the 16th century.
and, in addition, in the case the Mt Fuji logo becomes added to the site, it can be said to be inanimate.
if that's all too complicated- just think, virtually i want to live in a town near Mt Fuji.
the name is a bit strange- if not obscure, and for that reason, not giving concurrence to real towns in the neighbourhood
of Mt Fuji. most likely, they would use .JP web address! legally, it is required to have a permanent japanese address,
otherwise, it is not correct to maintain any .JP web address. .INFO addresses are unrestricted for everyone.
Q. are there hidden counters, javascripts, cookies, and the like, to record your IP?
A. not yet- and i do not think this is of much use. i have used counters for a while, but after all, it is not too interesting.
most commercial sites whatshowever do not use visible counters (though some of them, hidden counters).
Q. my language is not english- what now?
A. use the WINDOWS LIVE based translator. it is added to all pages. it requires JAVASCRIPT to be switched on!
if you have javascript switched off, the translator button will not be visible.
Q. what's the "."- why do you don't use double colons ("::"), or slash "/"?
A. i have used the former previously, but the point is also used for URL, with somewhat of ease to use.
i think it is useable to markup sub-sections of a website. the dot URL is used to go up one level (in tree structure).
there is always a text label, giving information about the current page, directly under the dot URL.
sure this is non-standard, but i hope it can be used easily!
Q. I WANT TO WRITE TO YOU...HOW-TO?
A. more easy than you maybe believe- simply sign up to MSN, and write via live space message,
or alternatively, if you have flickr,
you can use flickrmail for any normal purpose.
Q. will there be an answer?
A. first, i am not a service provider. if you do not give personal URL, a profile of you,
and explain what's the matter, response is unlikely.
there is no recruitment for staff, or for dating, or for any personal meetup here on this website.
you can forget the idea to initiate contact for such purpose, coming from nowhere, not including info where you work,
and not including a picture profile. well, people sometimes did that- and it is not effective. then don't do it.
you can for instance, visit my flickr groups, and decide if you like the content...
